[Five major design points for exhibitors’ booths at Lotus BB Exhibition 2025]

Lotus BB Exhibition 2025

Lotus BB Exhibition Background and Overall Overview

As the most influential infant and toddler industry event in Hong Kong and even in the Asia-Pacific region, the Lotus Baby Show will usher in its 33rd event in 2025. With "Safety, Quality, and Growth" as its core theme, the exhibition will be held at Hall 1 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center from July 31 to August 3. With 40 years of experience in maternal and infant retail, the organizer Lotus Group has joined hands with the Hong Kong Federation of Early Childhood Education and Services, the Hong Kong Family Planning Guidance Association and other institutions to bring together more than 500 exhibitors from home and abroad, set up more than 800 booths, and is expected to attract more than 600,000 visitors, continuing its industry status as the "largest baby show in Hong Kong."

In 2025, the maternal and infant industry will usher in a key node of "quality leap", with the market size expected to exceed 8 trillion yuan, and the annual growth rate of demand for high-end and organic products exceeding 15%. This trend is reflected in the exhibition as an "environmentally friendly material revolution". All booth construction materials must comply with EU REACH regulations, and more than 70% of them are recyclable or degradable materials, responding to the country's "dual carbon" strategy and consumers' demands for green parenting. The exhibition continues the "exhibition + experience" dual mode, providing a trade negotiation platform for brands and creating an immersive parenting scene for parent-child families, showing the industry's transformation direction from "quantity growth" to "value upgrade".

Core exhibition area planning and exhibit categories

  1. Daily necessities and smart parenting area
It occupies about 35% of the exhibition area, covering traditional categories such as baby strollers, safety seats, and sleeping supplies, with a special emphasis on the application of environmentally friendly materials. For example, the PPSU baby bottles exhibited by the German brand Shixi are made of BASF's customized environmentally friendly materials, which are both heat-resistant and BPA-free; a British brand's baby crib is made of FSC-certified wood and paired with removable and washable organic cotton bedding, reflecting the sustainable concept of "from materials to use". Although the smart parenting sector avoids technological elements, it still shows innovation through ergonomic design, such as adjustable dining chairs that meet the development of the baby's spine, reflecting the balance between functionality and safety.
  1. Nutritional food and health care area
Over 100 nutrition brands were gathered together to set up an "Organic Infant Food Zone", with exhibits including complementary foods and additive-free formula milk powder that have passed the EU organic certification. Belgian brand WHC continued the characteristics of previous years and set up a "Nutrition Interactive Experience Zone", where parents can learn about the natural raw material characteristics of Omega-3 products by touching samples. Child nutritionists were also arranged on site to explain scientific supplementary knowledge, responding to the new generation of parents' concern about "scientific parenting". The care products area focuses on mild formulas, such as washing and care sets with natural plant extracts, which meet the consumer demand for "safety and non-irritation".
  1. Clothing, toys and growth memorial area
The clothing section focuses on organic cotton and sustainable fibers, and some brands showcase their environmentally friendly experience in the entire process from planting to clothing. The toy area is dominated by wooden and degradable plastic toys, such as the building block series of Germany's HABA, which not only meets safety standards but also contains Montessori education concepts. The specially established "Growth Memorial Hall" provides parents with customized services such as fetal hair souvenirs and hand and foot ink pads. The space design uses warm wood tones to create a sense of ritual for family memories.

5 key design points for exhibitors’ booths

Constructing an immersive parenting scene with five senses

Natural healing spatial language-- organic form and warm texture
The design concept is based on the "baby's perspective". The wooden structure with rounded corners is used as the main frame. The surface is painted with formaldehyde-free wood wax oil, which is gentle to the touch and meets the GB 18584-2012 indoor decoration material standard. The space is divided by a bendable rattan screen, which not only ensures ventilation and perspective, but also creates a sense of security like a "nest". The color system uniformly adopts low-saturation color matching of macaron colors, such as light yellow walls with light green carpets, simulating the grass scene under the sun to reduce visual stimulation. The hand-woven cotton thread pendant is hung on the top, which makes a subtle sound when it is swayed by the wind, creating a natural white noise environment, which meets the baby's needs for soft sensory stimulation.

Sustainable modular architecture -- flexible combination and recycling
In view of the short-term characteristics of the exhibition, the environmentally friendly mode of "rental + assembly" is adopted: the main structure is an aluminum alloy quick-detachable frame, and the connecting parts do not require screws or tools. Two people can complete the construction within 4 hours; the wall uses magnetic display panels with replaceable canvases to avoid the waste of traditional inkjet materials. Modular rubber mats are laid on the ground, each with different animal patterns, which can form a complete picture and can also be used as an interactive puzzle for children. After the exhibition, 90% of the materials can be recycled and reused, which meets the high recycling rate standards verified by the Jianruier Parent-Child Carnival Exhibition, effectively reducing the environmental protection costs of exhibitors.

Safety-first detail design -- seamless protection and streamlined planning
Strictly follow the "Exhibition Building Design Code" JGJ218-2010, the booth entrance width is not less than 1.5 meters, and the aisle maintains a clear distance of 2 meters to ensure smooth passage of baby strollers. The height of all display counters is controlled below 80cm, and 3cm thick food-grade silicone anti-collision strips are installed at the corners; hanging decorations are fixed to the building's load-bearing beams with load-bearing chains to avoid the risk of falling. Electrical equipment uniformly uses waterproof connectors, and the lines are hidden in metal protective pipes in the exhibition racks. One ABC fire extinguisher is configured for every 50㎡, meeting the German DIN 4113 exhibition safety standard.

Creating a parent-child interactive scene -- participatory experience design
A "Parenting Life Simulation Area" is set up deep in the booth, with low soft-pack fences to divide the space, and built-in touchable baby product samples: such as bottles of different materials, crawling mats with textures, etc. Parents can guide their babies to explore with their sense of touch. An interactive "Growth Milestone" device is set up on the wall, and parents can mark the baby's height, weight and other data by flipping wooden signs to form a visual growth trajectory. A "Breastfeeding Friendly Space" is arranged in the corner, with a curtain to separate the private area, equipped with a comfortable nursing chair and storage space, reflecting the delicate care for parenting needs.

Warm transmission of brand stories -- narrative space design
Abandoning the didactic expression of traditional display boards, the brand concept is presented in the form of a "story wall": using the timeline as a clue, using illustrations and real objects to show the entire process of product development to use. For example, milk powder brands can display photos of the origin of raw materials, miniature models of production workshops, and handwritten cards of consumers' parenting stories. A replaceable theme light box is hung on the top, creating a family atmosphere through warm yellow light, making the brand value transmission more emotional, which meets the consumption needs of post-90s parents for "brand resonance".

Lotus Baby Show 2025 not only presents a diversified selection of infant products through the trinity model of "environmentally friendly materials + humanized design + industry leadership", but also builds a full ecological experience from material consumption to parenting concepts. The five major concepts of booth design run through the core of "safety, sustainability, and parent-child interaction", which not only meets the functional needs of the exhibition, but also leads the industry to develop in the direction of "high standards and high quality", becoming a value bridge connecting brands and families, and witnessing the upgrading process of the maternal and infant industry from commercial transactions to parenting culture communication. In the future, there will be exhibitions from all walks of life held in Hong Kong. Design House HK will provide exhibition design and construction services based on factors such as brand image, products, and target customer groups. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
